OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2012. In the past few years there has been a growing interest of Japanese entrepreneurs in the opportunities available in Latvia, today confirmed Takashi Osanai, Ambassador of Japan to Latvia during his visit to Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis.

The Ambassador emphasized that the Japanese government and business environment are informed about Latvia's achievements in overcoming the crisis and restoring the economic growth, and it has provided a significant impetus for increased interest in the opportunities for cooperation between Latvia and Japan. T.Osanai expressed confidence that in the near future the economic cooperation between the two countries will become more intense since a number of Japanese companies consider the opportunity to invest in Latvia or start cooperation with the Latvian entrepreneurs.

V.Dombrovskis expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for his contribution to strengthening the cooperation between the two countries, particularly for promoting relations in the fields of economy and culture. The Prime Minister also called on the government of Japan to support Latvia's objective to join the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
The Ambassador's term of office in Latvia is coming to an end, and therefore T.Osanai paid a farewell visit to the Head of the Government of Latvia.
