OREANDA-NEWS. November 09, 2012. According to GfK Geo Marketing Europe Purchasing Power Staudy for 2012-2013 (Germany) people of Moldova, Kosovo and Belarus are the poorest in Europe and incomes there do not reach 2 thou. euros per head. In Moldova disposable average 1257 euros per capita.

They are enough to cover expenses on food, utility bills, services, etc. Alongside with this, incomes of Moldavians do not reach one tenth of those average in Europe, where they made 12802 euros, and purchasing power in Moldova is 45 times less than in Lichtenstein, where the incomes per head are the highest in Europe and made up 56978 euros.

The top ten countries with the highest disposable incomes are presented by Norway (32037 euros), Switzerland (31666 euros), Luxemburg (28924 euros), Denmark (22040 euros), Austria (20613 euros), Sweden (20331 euros), Germany (20014 euros), France (19881 euros), Belgium (19318 euros) Besides Moldova, which closes the list, the group of the poorest states includes also Belarus (1553 euros), Kosovo (1906 euros), Ukraine (1985 euros) and Albania (2418 euros).

Among European states with the low purchasing power were listed such neighbours of Moldova as Bulgaria (2850 euros) and Romania (3472 euros). Purchasing power makes up 5085 euros in Croatia, 4884 euros in Hungary, 7475 euros in Czech Republic, and 7687 euros in Slovakia. People of states with the highest purchasing power have to spend a considerable part of their incomes on rooming and providing standards of life higher than in low purchasing power countries and their expenses are much greater than those in states where people have low purchasing power, researchers state.

They also measured the countries by the aggregate volume of incomes. 50% of the purchasing power of Europe is concentrated in three countries, namely in Germany (incomes of Germans make up close to 1636.2 bln. euros a year), France (1248.3 bln. euros) and the Great Britain (1138,6 bln. euros).

The rest 53% are distributed among other 39 states of Europe. The purchasing power in all 42 European states is valued at 8.6 trillion euros, the average income made up 12802 euros per head, 2.1% up within the year. GfK Geo Marketing measures regional and country differences in the purchasing power of 42 European states.

Purchasing power indicates disposable incomes per capita, including state allowances, after deduction of taxes. It does not allow for inflation rate and reflect regional differences in prices.
