OREANDA-NEWS. November 02, 2012. A delegation of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) had a meeting with a delegation of Mongolia’s Agency for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection at a competition advocacy workshop of the International Competition Network (ICN) in Paris (France), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.   

The parties discussed the ongoing matters of cooperation between the agencies under the umbrella of international organizations such as UNCTAD, OECD and ICN as well as through participating in the events organized by the competition authorities of the two countries. In particular, the parties negotiated participation of representatives of the Agency for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection of Mongolia in the annual training of experts of competition authorities in December at FAS Training-and-Resource Centre in Kazan.

As a result of the meeting, the Parties signed the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between FAS Russia and the Agency for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection of Mongolia in the field of antimonopoly policy and combating unfair competition for 2013-2014.

The Memorandum is aimed at providing assistance by the Federal Antimonopoly Service for advancing qualification of the officers of Mongolia’s Agency for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection in the field of competition policy. The Memorandum will also facilitate development of bilateral relations between the agencies and assisting each other in investigating the facts of anticompetitive practices of economic entities in Russia and Mongolia.
