OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2012. The Ukrposhta [Ukrainian State Enterprise of Posts "Ukrposhta"] has become one of ten winners of one of the most prestigious international philatelic competition "Grand Prix de l'Exposition WIPA".

The Ukrainian postal bloc "Lighthouses of Ukraine" of 2010 release won an honorable 6th place in the International Philatelic competition for the best stamp in 2010. 72 countries took part in the competition.

The Ukrposhta received a statement from the organizers of the competition on granting honorable 6th place. Among the participating countries for the title of best stamp in 2010, Ukraine beat Croatia, Russia, Germany, Iceland and many other countries. Over the past decade, the national postal operator Ukraine is among the ten best the fifth time, taking the third and seventh places in different years.

The International competition "Grand Prix de l'Exposition WIPA" is one of the most respected and prestigious philatelic event. It is being carried out annually in Vienna (Austria) and is a huge hit. The members of the jury are famous Austrian painters of stamps, philatelic journalists, representatives of the Austrian postal administration and Austrian national printing establishment.
