TNK-BP Announces Appointment of New Top Managers
OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2012. TNK-BP announces that it has been joined by Johan van Scherpenzeel and Andrey Mukhachev who previously held managing positions in major international oil and gas companies, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.
Johan van Scherpenzeel has been appointed Vice President, Operations, Downstream. In that position, he will lead and manage the oil refining segment of the Company's business, reporting directly to Mikhail Davydov, Senior Vice President, Refining. Andrey Mukhachev will head Upstream Exploration & Operational Excellence Division as Vice President reporting to Chris Einchcomb (position). Andrey will focus on delivery of improved performance in E&A drilling and testing, and on ? implementation of latest research developments in all TNK-BP Subsidiaries.
Johan has a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering fr om the Delft University of Technology (the Netherlands). He started his career in the oil industry in 1977 as a process engineer. Before joining TNK-BP Johan was CEO at Shell Pernis, and Director of Shell Netherlands BV. Johan is a member of Shell Netherlands' Senior Executive Council with over 35 years of experience in managing large-scale and technically sophisticated refining and production projects in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, and Kenya.
Andrey Mukhachev is a graduate of Tyumen Oil and Gas University and the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. He has worked in the oil and gas industry for more than 25 years, going all the way from oil rig operator to deputy general director. Andrey Mukhachev held managerial positions in some of the largest oil and gas companies, including Yuganskneftegaz, Shell Exploration & Production Services (RF) B.V., and Gazprom Neft. He comes to TNK-BP from the position of Deputy General Director of Salym Petroleum Development, a joint venture created by Shell and Gazprom Neft.
