OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2012. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) gave its opinion of a draft Federal Law “On Notariat and Notary Activities in the Russian Federation”, which is currently under discussion. In a letter to the Ministry of Justice the Russian Federation, the antimonopoly authority formulated its considerations regarding the proposed unified notary rates across all Russian provinces; the list of services of legal and technical nature rendered by notarial actions; administrative liability of notaries, other authorized persons for unreasonable refusals to exercise notarial actions, etc., reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service trusts there will be productive cooperation with the law drafters and offers to participate in the efforts to refine the draft law.

“The FAS position concerns the economic basis of the notary services in Russia and is aimed to develop a competitive market in this field with affordable prices”, pointed out the Head of FAS Analytical Department Alexei Sushkevich.
