FAS Discussed Cooperation in Common Economic Space
OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2012. Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), Andrey Tsyganov addresses the Round Table on the “Unified Competition Policy within the Common Economic Space” organized by the Eurasian Economic Commission, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
The Heads of the antimonopoly bodies of the member-states of the Common Economic Space, representatives of the Volgograd regional authorities, as well as business communities of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus took part in the event.
The Round Table focused on providing equal competition conditions on the markets of agricultural products within the Common Economic Space, non-discriminatory access of economic entities of the member-states of the Customs Union to the above markets, harmonization and improving the law of the member-states of the Common Economic Space on competition policy and state procurement.
Making a presentation on the “Issues of Cooperation between the Antimonopoly Bodies of the Member-States of the Common Economic Space in Pursuance of Competition Policy”, Andrey Tsyganov emphasized efficiency of cooperation between the antimonopoly authorities of the three countries, the mechanisms of which are built-up in view of the best world practices, in particular, the European Commission. Building-up the mechanisms of cooperation between the antimonopoly bodies of the member-states of the Common Economic Space was also facilitated to a considerable extent by the efforts of the Headquarters for Joint Investigations of Violations of the Antimonopoly Law of the CIS Members-States at the Interstate Council for Antimonopoly Policy.
