MOL Recognized by CDP for Climate Change Disclosure
OREANDA-NEWS. October 30, 2012. TOKYO-Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President: Koichi Muto) today announced that it has been commended by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP, *1) as a leader in the disclosure of greenhouse gas emissions and strategies for climate change, based on high scores in the CDP's analysis of its approaches to information disclosure.
As one of the environmental strategies in the midterm management plan "GEAR UP! MOL", the company has promoted activities to reduce the environmental burden of the ocean transport, including the next-generation vessel concept "Sempaku ISHIN". MOL's commitment to protecting the environment and aggressive disclosure of environmental information played a key role in this selection.

*1) The CDP is an international not-for-profit organization, formed in the U.K. in 2000, that represents 655 institutional investors with USD 78 trillion in assets, that promotes corporate disclosure of climate change information. CDP collects and scores information regarding climate change from companies, and officially announces the disclosed data. This year, the organization targeted 500 large Japanese companies by market capitalization, based on the FTSE Japan Index.
