OREANDA-NEWS. October 30, 2012. Representatives of small and medium-sized business entities of the Republic of Karelia took part in a business mission to Finland. It was organized by the Ministry of Economic Development of Karelia, the Regional center for coordination of support of export-focused small and medium-sized business entities established on the basis of the Business-Incubator of the republic, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Karelia. The business-mission was been organized at the support of the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Finland.

The trip took place within the scope of the regional program Development of small and medium-sized in the Republic of Karelia through to 2014 including owing to grants of the federal budget for development of small and medium-sized business, as well as at the expense of participants of the business-mission.

Ten enterprises representing various spheres of economic activities toop part in the visit: Petrozavodskmash Mining and Smelting Complex Ltd., Prionezhsky Kamen Ltd., Nordic Group JSC, Stalinvest (Sport 17) Ltd., Nelan Oxide+ Ltd., Individual Entrepreneur A.V.Teterin, Petrokript Ltd., Taito Ltd., Neming Ltd., Euroforum Ltd.

Presentations of the business-mission participants to their potential Finnish partners took place in Helsinki in the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Finland.

25 representatives of foreign business and business development organizations attended the presentations. Heads of Karelian enterprises have held talks with Finnish companies.

Results of the business mission of Karelian businessmen to Finland may be called positive: three trial deliveries of production to the Finnish enterprises are expected, continuation of negotiations on investment during the reciprocal visit of the Finnish party is planned.

Thus, representatives of Petrozavodskmash Mining and Smelting Complex Ltd. producing hydraulic dredgers for mining industry have held negotiations with the Association of Miners of Finland and the company of Leinovalu. The representative of the Association has expressed interest to production of the enterprise and organization of a visit to Kostomuksha ore-dressing and processing enterprise to see production of the company when in use. The opportunity of a visit of the management of the Karelian enterprise to their Finnish colleagues is also considered.

Prionezhsky Kamen Ltd. producing paving blocks of Karelian gabbro-diabase has held negotiations with Leminkainen company and the Association of Miners of Finland. Production of the company has interested representatives of the Finnish company. The preliminary arrangement on its trial delivery to Finland has been reached.

Other participants of the business-mission will also send samples of their production to Finland. These are Stalinvest (Sport 17) Ltd., manufacturer of compact tables for table tennis and tennball which heads have held negotiations with the company of Acon and the representative of the Trading Association of Finland, and Individual Entrepreneur A.V.Teterin working in the field of construction of log homes.

Heads of Nordic Group JSC which field of activity includes construction and investment together with the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Karelia Alexander Pankratov have held negotiations for cooperation with the representative of the Finnish Commerce Federation. At the moment negotiations are in progress.

Negotiations about cooperation with representatives of Stratum, Finland's largest company specialized in surface treatment, were held by representatives of Nelan Oxide+ Ltd. working in the sphere of nanotechnologies. Activity of Petrokript Ltd. working in the field of information technologies and IT-support of business, was of interest to some Finnish consulting companies. Representatives of Karelian home-nursing services Taito Ltd. have visited one of the assisted living residences for elderly people in Helsinki to get acquainted with the management experience and organization of its activity. Neming Ltd. working in the field of cosmetology has held negotiations with Steripolar and KiiltoClean companies on joint development of the project of Cosmetological Emergency Assistance.

The management of Euroforum Ltd., organizer of exhibitions, branch congresses and other activities, during negotiations with the representative of Messukeskus Exhibition Center of Helsinki has agreed upon information exchange and discounts for collective stands at exhibitions. The opportunity of Messukeskus's investment in construction of the congress and exhibition centre Euroforum in Petrozavodsk was discussed, too. During the visit to Helsinki participants of Karelian business-mission visited exhibitions devoted to construction in Messukeskus Exhibition Center.
