OREANDA-NEWS. October 30, 2012. In the Uzbek Communication and Information Agency, a meeting with the delegation of "Korea Telecom" corporation led by its President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Lee Suk Chae took place, reported the press-centre of Uzbektelecom.

The visit of "Korea Telecom" delegation to Tashkent is a practical implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Korea in September 2012. The cooperation in communication and information sector between two states is conducted on the basis of signed interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents.

At the meeting the sides discussed further development of bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation in new directions of telecommunication and information-communication technologies sector. The sides exchanged opinions on perspective direction of developing telecommunication technologies.

Underlying high level of Uzbek-Korean bilateral cooperation, the representatives of "Korea Telecom" corporation expressed a wish and intention to further expand its activities in Uzbekistan through the introduction of new wireless technologies.

"Korea Telecom" Corporation was founded in 1982. Today "Korea Telecom" is one of the largest telecommunication operators in Asia. The Corporation owns the largest and the most technologically saturated Korean telecommunication network that provides the services of local, long distance and international calls, as well as data transmission service.
