OREANDA-NEWS. October 29, 2012. Enterprises of Key Forest JSC and Raptek Ltd. in the settlement of Helyla became the first objects which Head of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen visited in Sortavala region.

Currently, Key Forest JSC is implementing the investment project on construction of a timber mill. Director General of the enterprise Pavel Udavkov has told the Head of Karelia that by now implementation of the first phase of the project is completed, the equipment produced by German and Finnish companies has been delivered to the factory and assembled, the log-processing line has been put into operation. Today there work 74 employees, and since the project has been launched there have been created 41 jobs. This year the enterprise has produced 17,000 cubic meters of saw timber.

The second phase of the project implementation assumes construction of a boiler-house and assembly of a sorting line for sorting of dry saw timber, during the third stage the line manufacturing surfaced timber will be built and assembled. As a whole, upon completion of construction the factory's productivity will make up to 150,000 cubic meters of satimber a year.

Key Forest JSC has timberland on lease in territory of Sortavala region and develops allowable cut completely.

Another enterprize of the settlement of Helyla is Raptek Ltd., subsidiary production unit of world-famous Rapala VMC Corporation. The corporation produces the whole assortment of equipment for fishery and goods for recreation and sports. At the moment, the factory of Raptek founded in the settlement in 2007 is a dynamically developing enterprise with 100 employees.

The factory assembles wobblers or spinners of ready details. Assembly of wobblers in Helyla is a part of a technological chain. Details for them are delivered from Finland, the assembled production is sent to the Finnish factory for multistage surface processing, and then on the factory in Estonia for final assembly, manual testing, packing and shipment of the finished commodity worldwide.

– At the moment all the Rapala wobblers are assembled by hands of these ladies working in Sortavala and in Helyla, – Director General of the enterprise Marina Sharapova has pointed out.

Head of the enterprize has also added that the total amount of manufacture makes more than 10 million pieces a year. The factory keeps mastering new production phases which promotes active development of the enterprise.

At the factory Head of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen has familiarized with the manufacturing process, talked to the employees and has held a meeting on prospects of development of this manufacture so unique for Russia.

Besides, while in the settlement of Helyla Head of the republic has visited the ski factory of Sortavala.
