Belarus Wants to Make Transition to Single Industrial Policy with RF
OREANDA-NEWS. October 29, 2012. Prime Minister of Belarus Mr Mikhail Myasnikovich made the statement as he met with Vice Premier of Russia Mr Dmitry Rogozin.
The Prime Minister said: “We’d like to accelerate the establishment of our common market, the single economic and primarily industrial policy for the sake of getting rid of some annoying exceptions from the common principles that have been developed and ratified by our countries in an inspired manner”.
Belarus is interested in more dynamic Single Economic Space processes to form the common market. “It seems to me that the Eurasian Economic Commission could do a bit better in this process,” believes Mikhail Myasnikovich. “We should signal the commission together to get all these matters addressed”. It involves not only prospects of cooperation in the defense industry but matters concerning the transition to a common industrial policy, stressed the Belarusian head of government.
“It is good to hear talks about competition, claims that the weak have to go, that we are not that rich to create some competitive products in our association,” said the Prime Minister. “I think it would be wise to use the forces that we rely on in the sphere of material production and other areas for the sake of making the step and walking abreast with the world’s leading companies”.
In turn, Dmitry Rogozin stated that Belarus and Russia had advanced considerably in the formation of a single industrial policy, adjustment of programs and plans relating to various forms of manufacturing cooperation. “We enjoy support of our presidents in matters of the great work that we have initiated,” he said. The Vice Premier of Russia also drew attention to the development of partnership of the two countries in the defense industry, which can now offer breakthrough avenues and high-tech projects to the two economies.
