OREANDA-NEWS. October 26, 2012.  From October 23 to 24 Kalinin NPP held a conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. It was attended by young employees of the Concern’s branches and nuclear industry of Ukraine. The subject-matter of the works covered the following areas in regard to nuclear power plants: “Operation”, “Maintenance and Repair”, “Safety and Reliability”, “Engineering Support and Modernization”, “Information Technology” and “Industry Development Programs. Best Practices”.

The work of Dmitry Tverdokhleb (South Ukraine NPP) on the topic “Reliability Improvement and Reduction of Breaker Failures by Changing the Drive Power Supply Circuit” has got the highest score from the jury. There was marked the practical and social value of the work. “This is the original, simple, almost cost-free solution, which nowadays increases the reliability of electric power supplying to consumers,” explained one of the contest committee members, Deputy Head of the Personnel Training Division of Kalinin NPP, Alexander Parfenov.

The second place was shared by Andrey Morozov (Smolensk NPP) and Ruslan Alyev (Kalinin NPP). The third degree certificate was awarded to Balakovo NPP representative, Dmitry Markelov. And a special prize of the jury was received by Anastasia Selezneva, an engineer of Beloyarsk NPP II.

The contest committee chaired by Acting Director of Kalinin nuclear power plant, Igor Bogomolov, marked the high level of the submitted works. According to the results of the conference, there were defined the best developments of young nuclear engineers at the International Scientific and Technical Conference “NPP Youth: Safety, Science and Production”.

Closing the conference work, Igor Bogomolov thanked the participants and wished them success, as well as reliable and accident free operation to enterprises, in which they work. “We will consider this conference as an intermediate stage in your further career development,” he stressed.
