OREANDA-NEWS. October 26, 2012. CRBC and the Gabonese government have signed an EPC contract for Port Gentil-Omboue Highway (93 kilometers), the Ogooue River and Booue Bridge, with a total value of 663 million US dollars and a construction period of 60 months, reported the press-centre of CCCC.

Located in southwest Gabon’s coastal area, with a full length of 93 kilometers, a subgrade width of 12 meters and a subgrade width of 10 meters, in two-way two-lane design, the proposed highway has asphalt concrete surface and stretches from the south of Port Gentil to Omboue. The project involves two super large bridges with a total length of 13 kilometers and 141 culverts.

The project has been the largest capital construction project apart from the railway project in recent years, according to sources. After completion, the project will connect Gabon’s largest port Port Gentil to the inland highway network, be conductive to the development and outward transport of oil resources along the highway, and play a significant role in improving the transport and living conditions of residents along the highway and promoting local tourist development.
