OREANDA-NEWS. October 25, 2012. A 525 MW turbogenerator complete with its excitation system for power unit No. 8 of Troitskaya TPP has been manufactured, tested and handed over to the customer by Power Machines OJSC ahead of the contractual schedule.

The contract for the turbogenerator manufacture and supply was concluded with Energotsentrmontazh OJSC in April 2011. In accordance with the contractual terms Power Machines will supply a 525 MW hydrogen-to-water cooled generator complete with its excitation system to the plant.

The equipment deliveries are scheduled to be completed in January 2013.

New generator is supplied to replace a 500 MW overaged generator produced by Electrotyazhmash plant (Kharkov) within the framework of Troitskaya TPP’s unit upgrading.

Hydrogen-to-water cooled generator series are produced as complete sets by Power Machines. The company has already manufactured over 600 pieces of such turbogenerators. New bars, shaft seals and bearings have been used in the design of the generator for Troitskaya TPP.
