Ukraine Exported Agricultural Products at USD 2.8 mn to Bangladesh
OREANDA-NEWS. October 25, 2012. Ukraine is interested in deepening cooperation with Bangladesh. One of the promising areas for Ukraine is construction of port infrastructure facilities in the People's Republic of Bangladesh. In addition, Ukraine is interested in increasing exports of poultry, egg powder and sunflower oil to Bangladesh market.
This was discussed at a meeting of the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysiazhniuk with Dr. Saiful Hok, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
Mykola Prysiazhniuk recalled that previous meeting with Bengali party took place in August 2011, when the Minister was first among Cabinet members visited Bangladesh. He confirmed Ukraine's interest in the development of infrastructure projects in Chitahon Port. Specifically, it is about building of elevators and Port Installations delivery as well as construction flour milling enterprise and facilities for handling oil.
"We're pleased that trade relations with your country has been begun. Now we see a gradual development. For us, trade by agricultural products with Bangladesh is an interesting," Mykola Prysiazhniuk pointed out.
The Minister stressed that nowadays development of trade relations between the People's Republic of Bangladesh and Ukraine continues. Thus, for 8 months in 2012, Ukraine has exported agricultural products worth 2.8 million dollars to the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Total commodity turnover between the two countries amounted to 3.9 million dollars during this period. Last year, Ukraine exported agricultural products worth 34.9 million dollars to Bangladesh.
In turn, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Dr. Saiful Hok stressed the importance of the meeting and the intensification of cooperation with Ukraine.
