OREANDA-NEWS. October 24, 2012. Within the framework of "Open Day of Transaero" at Vnukovo International Airport an introductory tour for members of the agency network of the airline has taken place.

To begin with, guests were pleased to be on board of the aircraft of "Transaero" airlines, Boeing 737-800, where they could appreciate on board service. Then they went to the passenger terminal A: tour of the terminal started in the luggage area, where service for transfer passengers was presented to the delegation. It is interesting to underline that unlike many other airports in Russia and in Europe, transfer passengers have the unique opportunity: arrived at Vnukovo by international flight passengers, who are going to other cities in Russia, can pass through the same terminal to the area of domestic flights. This convenient way is possible due to division of the new terminal A into two areas - for passengers of domestic and international flights

After that, guests went to the departure hall to check-in desks on flights of "Transaero", where they got acquainted with the passenger and luggage check-in process and security profiling.

In the left side of the departure hall service desk for passengers with reduced mobility was demonstrated to the members of the agency network. By the way, recently in the Vnukovo Airport, on the second floor of the terminal A in the departure hall, a special yellow walkway for the visually impaired people has just put into operation. It leads directly from the entrance to the service desk for passengers with reduced mobility.

Just to keep in mind that in the beginning of November 2010, with the opening of the first part of the terminal complex, in the airport a special group was created in order to assist passengers with reduced mobility from the arriving at the airport till boarding on the aircraft. In the same time, "Transaero" airlines provide its service for passengers with reduced mobility on scheduled flights from the Vnukovo airport: you can order a wheelchair for free movement in the cabin

48 hours prior to departure by calling 8-800-200-2376 (free in Russia).

Then the delegation visited the landing gallery and service infrastructure of the sterile area of domestic airlines, lounge for business class passengers and office of "Transaero" airline, located in the office area of Vnukovo airport.

At the end of the tour presentation on "Competitive Advantages of Vnukovo airport" was shown. Participants were told that it is planned to complete the reconstruction of the runway number 1 and the construction of the second part of terminal complex in December 2012. By this time, traffic control tower on the airfield will be open. It will be located above the roof of the terminal at the height of 40 meters; in a separate "bowl." Around the traffic control point there will be restaurants with a view on the airfield and duty free shops. Interior decoration of the new terminal also has its unique style in comparison with other Moscow airports: at the base of the traffic control tower a fountain will be placed.

After finishing all reconstruction works in the terminal A with the total area of 270 thousand square meters airport will provide passengers with international standards of service and will make any trip pleasant and comfortable.
