OREANDA-NEWS. October 23, 2012. October 22 – 26, 2012 the 6th edition of the Forest and Man International Timber Forum will be held within the Lesdrevmash’2012 International Exhibition. The Forum is organized by the Union of Timber Manufacturers and Exporters of Russia in partnership with Centrlesexpo Company, with official support of the Government of the Russian Federation, and with the participation of relevant ministries and departments.

The Forum is focused on the development of the joint actions of the Russian federal and regional authorities, timber industry complex of Russia, and interested foreign enterprises for the modernization of sustainable forest management and wood processing in Russia.

The opening event of the Forum is the plenary meeting Forest Sector Development: Policy and Strategy. It will be supervised by Sergey Katyrin, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, and Myron Tatsyun, the President of the Union of Timber Manufacturers and Exporters of Russia.

The Forum will include specialized sections, seminars, and roundtables, devoted to theoretical and practical questions of development of forest industry. The Forum expects 2500 delegates. All significant figures of the Russian timber industry will gather here. The events of the Forum will be attended by heads of the Federal and regional authorities of Russia, professional associations, representatives of sectoral science, the leading enterprises of the timber processing industry.
