OREANDA-NEWS.  October 22, 2012. The Government organizes the food fairs to stabilize a price situation on food in Sevastopol. That was announced by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov in Sevastopol.

"When I come to Kyiv, I will give an order on the organization of the food fairs in Sevastopol. We must obtain bringing of food prices in Sevastopol to the average ones for the country," Mykola Azarov said.

Currently, prices in Sevastopol are much higher than in the average over the country. This situation is due to the fact that there is the Sevastopol Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, which soldiers receive higher wages than the average ones in the city. Due to this, their purchasing power is higher, and this uses dishonest trade chains which overstate the food prices.
