OREANDA-NEWS. October 19, 2012.  Lagging for the cylindrical part of the reactor vessel has been delivered to Novovoronezh II for Unit 2.

The lagging (weight – about 9 tons, inner diameter – more than 5 meters) is a part of the reactor pit equipment and is designed to reduce thermal losses from the reactor vessel, as well as to protect the pit concrete from high temperature exposure.

The lagging welded from steel plates and made as a cylindrical structure was delivered by separate parts from the producing plant CJSC Petrozavodskmash to Novovoronezh II.

Currently, the equipment is passing the acceptance control, after which specialists will begin pre-assembly works. The lagging installation is scheduled for IV quarter of this year.
