OREANDA-NEWS. October 19, 2012. I.T. Co. developed first-stage network infrastructure at head office of MIC RPA for Mechanical Engineering OJSC, Reutov, Moscow region. Open Joint Stock Company Military Industrial Corporation Research and Production Association for Mechanical Engineering is one of the leading rocket and space undertakings in Russia. Business processes and production processes in the company are characterized by intensive use of information technologies, such as: CAD/CAM systems, software devices for 3-D simulation, electronic document management system on BOSS-Assistant 4J platform, etc. By the beginning of 2011, MIC RPA for Mechanical Engineering OJSC needed to retrofit IT infrastructure to ensure stable operation of all existing and implemented systems, as well as for possible extension of IT resources in the future.
For the moment of the beginning of the project, the company has no unified LAN, it has many poor interacting subnetworks of individual production blocks. This complicated information resources support and control processes for the whole company. Therefore, the key task of the project was to develop centralized corporate LAN.
I.T. Co. was selected as the contractor to the project having broad competencies in developing various information systems infrastructure.
Within one year, I.T. specialists designed and constructed:
Structured cable systems in 7 blocks, including optic fiber communications inside the building
Uninterruptible power supply systems for local area communication nodes and communication centers
Local area network based on Cisco active equipment.
The developed corporate network will be a process platform for further development of corporate control systems, process and communication control systems.
