Central Bank of Uzbekistan Offers Consumer Credits for Young Families
OREANDA-NEWS. October 19, 2012. A press-conference on widening banking service and improving service culture was organized at the National press-centre by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
Deputy chairman of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan Sh.Haydarov, deputy chairman of Ipoteka-bank joint-stock commercial bank D.Abdumuminov, deputy chairman of Qishloqqurilishbank A.Mavlonov noted that due to stability of banks the volume of credits to small business and population is increasing from year to year.
As of 1 October the commercial banks issued 4,2 trln. soum loans to small business and private entrepreneurs, which is 32,4% more than the same period of the last year.
At present more than 9 thousand banking units, including 30 banks and their 800 branches render financial services to businesses and population. Banks’ credit resources are directed at utilising enterpreneurial potential of the youth, their employment, development of rural infrastructure, increasing economic activity of women.
From the start of the year 104,9 bln. soum credits are issued as a material aid and support for young families. In particular, micro credit loans amounting to 66 bln. soums are given for funding entrepreneurial activity of young families, 39 bln. soums for funding business-projects of recent college graduates. This amount is 1,9 times more than the same period of the last year. Besides, 35 bln. soum loans are issued with the aim of further improving social and household conditions for women.
- Growth in well-being of population increases demand for consumer credits, - says director of the department for development of small business and private entrepreneurship of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan A.Sayfullaev. – In order to achieve this goal, an efficient credit system is established in our country. In accordance with the Year of the Family State program, the banks are implementing a construction project of 100 houses in rural areas in 2012-2013 for the amount of 272 bln. soums.
