OREANDA-NEWS. October 19, 2012. The fair, which has been held since 2005 on the initiative of President Islam Karimov has resulted in growing interest in Uzbek cotton in the world markets. While the first fair welcomed 170 representatives from 30 countries, last year it was visited by 660 representatives of more 330 companies from 38 countries. The number is expected to increase this year.

Our country has developed a modern cotton production, processing and sales complex of highest quality. If during the previous fairs mostly cotton yarn sales deals were closed, recently textile end-products market have also seen a growing demand in the external markets.

According to information from UzExpoCentre national exhibition company, the preparation works on organizing the VIII International Uzbek cotton and textile fair on a high level, creating all conditions for participants and guests is almost finished. For instance, a special stand to demonstrate different types of cotton fiber and plant has been mounted at the centre of the exhibition hall.

Cotton and textile products will be on show in special halls. The cotton fiber exhibition is expected to showcase more than 800 types of cotton fiber, which have a quality certificate of “Sifat” Uzbekistan cotton fiber certification centre.

The textile products hall will include leading companies of Uzbekyengilsanoat state joint-stock company, private entrepreneurs with their products for export. The quality and design of Uzbek textile products are no worse than the foreign competitors’, which makes demand for Uzbek goods to grow in outer markets.

Setting of exhibitions stands were done in accordance with an artistic design. The fair program includes a show of national clothes, which aims to display national traditions and successes in this sphere.

The conference hall for signing cooperation agreements, for holding presentations is operational with all necessary equipments.

This event will serve to strengthen commercial and economic relations of our country, to further develop our economy and making it competitive in the world markets.
