OREANDA-NEWS. October 18, 2012. The volume of export grains reached more than 6.6 million tons. Only in September, 2.4 million tons of grain crops have been sold abroad, which exceeded previous forecasts, the Government has currently no plans to introduce any restrictions on exports.

Instead, the line ministry together with grain traders, having counted balance sheets, decided that wheat exports can be increased from 4 up to 5 million tons. This in no way adversely affects the food security of the country, which is a priority of the state. This was stated by Mykola Prysiazhniuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food during a speech at the Third Ukrainian Congress.

"During September, exports of grain group exceeded 2 million tons and to date the Government has no plans to introduce any restrictions. However, we clearly declare that for the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the food security is the most important. Because we jointly with grain traders monitor this situation," Mykola Prysiazhniuk pointed out.

The Minister informed the Ukrainian farmers delivered 3.4 million tons of wheat, nearly 1.9 million tons of maize and 1.3 million tons of barley into the world market. It’s also planned to increase export of forage crops.
