Ukraine Will Systematically Ensure Coal Industry Development
OREANDA-NEWS. October 18, 2012. The Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko made a working visit to Luhansk Region, where held a meeting on topical issues of the coal industry in town of Yuvileine.
During the meeting, Yuriy Boyko stressed that investment attraction in the coal industry of Luhansk Region would contribute to the energy independence of the region, and thus the whole country.
"From how there will be developed the Luganskvugillia, Pervomayskvugillya, Lisichans'k, Rovenky, Sverdlovsk coal companies and other ones – depends the energy security of whole Ukraine. The country may have advanced missiles and aircraft, but all this does not work if you will not move forward power engineering. Therefore, the state will always pay special attention to the coal industry development," said Yuriy Boyko.
He pointed out that by the end of the year, UAH 150 million to be allocated to the Luganskvugillia SE, which would stimulate the growth of coal mining enterprise. According to the Minister, through borrowed funds, it is planned to increase threefold coal extraction at the enterprise.
Yuriy Boyko highlighted that the Government would systematically ensure the coal industry development, since Ukrainian coal is an alternative to expensive imported gas.
