OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2012. DTEK Trading Company signed a coal supply contract with OJSC "OGK-2" (Russian Federation). The first delivery was made on October 6, 2012.

Low volatile coal produced by DTEK, under the contract, will be supplied to OGK-2’s Novocherkassk thermal power plant. The total contracted amount is 120,000 tons until the end of this year; OGK-2’s demand for Ukrainian coal in 2013 will be determined in the near future.

“The partnership with OGK-2 is a part of DTEK’s efforts to extend and diversify markets for Ukrainian coal in neighboring countries,” said DTEK’s Commercial Director Andrey Favorov. “Anthracite exports to Russia are a high priority and strategically important to us. As our technological requirements for energy are similar to those of Russian electricity generation companies, Ukrainian low volatile coal can be widely used by them. We hope to expand our cooperation with OGK-2.”
