Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg Increased Its Turnover by 26%
OREANDA-NEWS. October 15, 2012. Within the period of 9 months of 2012 the turnover of JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” amounted to 6.7 mln. tons of cargoes, which is by 26% more than during the last year.
In particular, volumes of bulk and loose cargoes amounted to 1.3 mln. tons. Handling volumes of general cargoes increased by 12% up to 5.4 mln. tons. Besides, within the period from January to September of 2012 54 746 units of wheeled vehicles were reloaded which is by 34% more than in 2011.
Export volumes in the structure of the turnover of the company increased by 23% up to 5.1 mln. tons, import volumes increased by 34% up to 1.6 mln. tons.
Reference: JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (included in UCL Port – part of subholding, consolidating stevedoring assets of the International transportation group UCL Holding) – is the largest operator, rendering services on handling of all types of dry cargoes in the Greater Port of Saint-Petersburg. It operates by modern specialized terminals for handling of container, reefer, ro-ro cargoes, cars and metals. In 2011 the turnover of JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” amounted to 7.4 mln. tons of cargoes.
