OREANDA-NEWS. October 15, 2012. Modernization of milk and meat processing plants in accordance with modern requirements will enable Ukrainian meat and dairy products to faster enter foreign markets and avoid trade export restrictions.

Ukraine also works to harmonize standards of quality and safety of food products with the European Union and CIS countries. The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysiazhniuk reported about this at a briefing during a visit to Sanitary Veterinary Laboratory at the Zhitniy Market.

"The domestic milk and meat processing companies are constantly being technically re-equipped and technologically upgraded, because the requirements for quality are increasing. If these enterprises want to supply the products to foreign markets, they will have to be standardized up to the norms and requirements of the countries which they export to," Mykola Prysiazhniuk stressed.
