OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2012. According to the press service of the government of Moldova, Russian authorities notified competitive bodies of Moldova of this. This decision was made by Russia’s party as a result of the arrangements Premier of Moldova Vladimir Filat, President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Russian premier Dmitry Medvedev had achieved earlier.

The resolution comes into effect on October, 12. To date there have been three such terminals in Russia, two in Moscow and the Moscow region and one in St.-Petersburg of which only two were functioning. According to Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Moldovan wines are still very popular in Russia but winemakers are facing problems with their export and market placement.

Moldova remains the only country which exports its wines to Russia under the one-window regime, which leads to higher transport expenses and greater prices and makes wines of Moldova less competitive in the Russian market.
