OREANDA-NEWS. October 11, 2012. For 10 years (until 2023) Ukraine will fully provide itself with its own oil and gas. This was started by Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov at the Odessa National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet during discussions on the implementation of the program of economic reforms of the President with representatives of local authorities and local governments, institutions of social and humanitarian workers.

"In 10 years we will be self-sufficient in gas and oil, and will not depend on anyone" - Mykola Azarov said.

He stressed that Ukraine has large reserves of oil and gas.

In order to start the production of hydrocarbons in the territory, said the Prime Minister, Ukraine has significant financial expenditures.

He recalled that this year will begin drilling in the Black Sea shelf, and from next year will begin gas production.

Mr. Azarov also said that the work on the production of shale gas had been begun.
