OREANDA-NEWS.  October 11, 2012. Ukraine is an attractive partner for the food supply of Japan. This was started by Japanese agricultural experts corporation "Agriculture and Livestock Industries Corporation of Japan" during a meeting with the Head of the State Agency of Land Resources Sergiy Tymchenko.

Japanese businessmen are interested in the opportunities of our country for production of cereals, especially maize, in fruitful Ukrainian soil.

Businessmen from Japan cooperate effectively with Ukrainian farmers on the issues of import of maize. Since the beginning of 2012 they purchased from domestic producers more than 800 thousand tons of these products. Overall Japan imports about 16 million tons of corn annually.

The head of the State Agency of Land Resources has expressed interest in further cooperation and suggests the Japanese side as a high-tech country, to invest in the Ukrainian lands.
