Bad Credits in Banking System of Moldova Made Up 15,3%
OREANDA-NEWS. October 10, 2012. Bad credits in the banking system of Moldova made up 15.3% as of the end of August, 2012, 2.4 p.p up since the beginning of the year. According to the National Bank of Moldova, they grew 6.4 p.p. as compared with past August.
The balance of bad credits in the total regulatory capital of Moldova made up 75.6% as of the end of August, 2012 , 22.7 p.p up since the beginning of the year and 41.1 p.p. up as compared with the past August. At the same time, non-performing assets made up 99.2% of TRC as of the end of August, 2012, 56.3 p.p. up as compared with August, 2011 and 31.8 p.p. up since the beginning of this year.
The calculated allowances for assets and conditional commitments made up 4 bln. 591 mln. leis against 3 bln. 175.6 mln. leis in the beginning of the year and 2 bln. 252.8 mln. leis as of the end of August, 2011 (2.04 times). Total allowances for losses from formed impairments for assets and conditional commitments were 1 bln. 716.8 mln. leis against 1 bln. 577.4 mln. leis at the beginning of the year (+8.8%).
Assets of 5 banks of Moldova with the largest assets made up 70.8%, 0.5 p.p up as compared with the beginning of the year and 1.3 p.p. as compared with past August.
