Design Voltage Applied to Combined Hydrocracking Installation, TANECO
OREANDA-NEWS. October 09, 2012. Design voltage was applied to step-down substation No.2 of the Refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex, providing power supply for the TANECO second stage facilities.
The design voltage supply was an important condition for the beginning of large-scale commissioning operations. This landmark event had been preceded by a large volume of work performed by the experts of the TATNEFT's Department for the construction project of the combined hydrocracking installation, OAO "Tatelectromontazh" and TANECO.
The power supply to the deep oil conversion refinery with the combined hydrocracking installation being an important component of the whole complex will be carried out from three independent sources. The first group of power lines from Zainsk regional power station (GRES), Nizhnekamsk CHP and "Zavodskaya" substation and the second line from "Uzlovaya" substation are already providing electricity to the TANECO's first stage facilities.
The complexity of hydrocracking and hydrotreating processes, many of which are preformed at pressure of 200 atmospheres and temperature of 500-700 degrees, vitally necessitates the availability of another independent power source. It will be federal "Kama-500" substation designed for power supply to enterprises of the "Alabuga" special economic zone. TATNEFT Company is currently engaged in building high-voltage overhead lines from Yelabuga to Nizhnekamsk.
The power supply to the currently operating TANECO refinery is implemented through two step-down substations: GPP-1 and GPP-4. GPP-2 step-down substation was built and put into operation in accordance with the "Project" stage for power supplying to the deep oil conversion refinery facilities with the voltage of 220 kilovolts. All the works on engineering design, construction, deliveries and equipment installation for GPP-2 were performed by "Tatelectromontazh." High level professionalism and experience gained at the TANECO's first stage facilities allowed completing the full range of works within less than a year and a half.
The undeniable advantages of the equipment mounted at the main step-down substation and distribution transformers (manufactured by "ABB", "Siemens", "Schneider Electric", "Ansaldo Thomassen", "INVENT") include its safety, efficiency, compactness and easy maintenance.
The design voltage supply is also of symbolic importance: this event has become a point of the countdown to the commissioning of the combined hydrocracking installation.
