OREANDA-NEWS. October 8, 2012. SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev met with the delegation led by Chief Executive Officer of the Central Bank of Canton of Geneve Blaise Goetschin at the Head office of the Company.
 Welcoming the guests, Mr. Abdullayev noted the establishment of close relations between Azerbaijan and Switzerland and informed about economic development processes ongoing in the country. Speaking about spreading European values in Azerbaijan, especially, religious tolerance, SOCAR President noted the establishment of all opportunities for the development of democratic institutions and activity of people equal in rights belonging to various religions.

In his turn, by Chief Executive Officer of the Central Bank of Canton of Geneve Blaise Goetschin expressed his gratitude for invitation to Azerbaijan and highly estimated the cooperation of the bank, which has historical and wealthy traditions for more than 200 year, with SOCAR. According to him, the bank attempts the cooperation with the best companies of the world and is proud of the relations with SOCAR. As he said, Azerbaijan plays a significant role not only in the South Caucasus, but also in the whole region.

SOCAR President spoke about the projects of regional and global importance carried out by the Company and the role of Azerbaijan in providing energy security of Europe. Mr. Abdullayev said that the major volume of crude oil sale of Azerbaijan was being implemented via SOCAR over SOCAR Trading. He also expressed his confidence on further extension of the cooperation in the next years.

The sides also exchanged view about the other issues of mutual interest.
