Eni CEO Met Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev
OREANDA-NEWS. October 8, 2012. Eni's CEO shared the developments and results of the company's ongoing activities in the country with the President, affirming Eni's positive vision of the primary importance projects that Kazakhstan presents, such as the Kashagan and Karachaganak.
Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Eni CEO Paolo Scaroni met today in Astana for the VII Kazernergy Eurasian Forum.
During the meeting, which was cordial and constructive, Eni's CEO shared the developments and results of the company's ongoing activities in the country with the President, affirming Eni's positive vision of the primary importance projects that Kazakhstan presents, such as the Kashagan and Karachaganak.
Futhermore, Eni's CEO informed President Nazarbayev on the progress of the agreement of cooperation and mutual understanding, originally signed by National Company KazMunaiGaz and Eni in 2009, for the implementation of investments in Kazakstan’s industrial infrastructure.
The President was also informed of joint projects for building a shipyard in the Caspian Sea and a gas turbine power plant in West Kazakhstan region.
Eni has been present in Kazakhstan since 1992, where the company co-operates the Karachaganak producing field and is a partner of the North Caspian Sea PSA consortium to develop the Kashagan field and is involved in the North Caspian Sea PSA project to develop the Kashagan field.
