Head of Karelia Discussed State of Affairs in Agriculture
OREANDA-NEWS. October 8, 2012. Within the scope of the 18th agricultural fair opened in Petrozavodsk, Head of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen has held a working meeting with heads of agricultural and processing enterprises of the republic.
During the meeting the current situation in the branch has been discussed. In particular, Grigory Manuilov, Minister of Agriculture, Fish and Hunting Industry, has reported that harvesting and laying-in of fodder in the republic are completed. Disregard of the severe weather confditions in Kareloia it has been laid in 20.2 centners of fodder units per livestock unit, which would suffice hibernation of the available cattle stock.
Head of Karelia has mentioned that agriculture in the republuic currently works in complex conditions.
– We used to render and will keep rendering support to the branch, though heads of enterprises and the Ministry should continue modernization of production, introduction of new technologies and equipment, that is quite actual considering Russia's accession to WTO, – Alexander Khudilainen has emphasized at the meeting.
