OREANDA-NEWS. October 08, 2012. At this weekend’s Motoshow in Tartu, SEB Liising will partner with car dealers to conduct test drives in order to compare the fuel consumption rates advertised by manufacturers with actual rates. Based on the completion of a 23-kilometre circuit combining travel in the city and on the highway, the mean fuel consumption rate will be used to select the most efficient car make from amongst the various car makes and models tested, reported the press-centre of SEB.

“Fuel prices have risen significantly, and many households have opted for more efficient cars over the past year. According to the analysis by SEB, a greener car contributes to the conservation of the environment while generating significant savings. Our data indicates that, compared to a regular car, a greener car will save one more than EUR 1 300 per year in fuel, insurance and leasing payments. Over a period of four years, this might result in savings equal to a quarter of the purchase cost of the car,” noted Ainar Leppanen, Head of SEB Liising.

Over the past year, SEB’s customers in the Baltics have purchased more than 300 new cars with CO2 emissions below 130 g/km, with the help of the attractive terms of green leasing. To date, the most popular car makes have been Volkswagen, Kia, Skoda, Hyundai and Fiat.

SEB is also guided by an environmentally friendly way of thinking when selecting its own company cars. All new SEB company cars must have an emission level below 130g/km.
