OREANDA-NEWS. October 08, 2012. Russian Railways announces that tickets are now on sale for all long-distance trains, trailer coaches and direct carriages on international and domestic routes departing on and after 28 October 2012, reported the press-centre of Russian Railways.

As previously announced, on 20 September 2012 a bill was introduced to the State Duma of the Russian Federation to switch to winter time and put the clock back 1 hour from 28 October 2012.

Russian Railways was therefore forced to halt temporarily the sale of tickets on long-distance trains departing from 26 October 2012 because of the possible need to adjust the timetables of all types of trains - long-distance, suburban commuter and freight services.

This work was conducted as quickly as possible and passengers are being informed about the resumption of ticket sales in a timely manner.

The Company has previously announced the resumption of ticket sales on trains departing from 26 October 2012 and the partial resumption of ticket sales for trains departing from 28 October 2012.
