OREANDA-NEWS. October 08, 2012. The President participated in the ceremony of opening the wind farm of LLC “DTEK” in Botievo, Zaporizhzhya region. The Head of State made a test launch of three turbines.

Viktor Yanukovych expressed gratitude to all participants of the project. “Technically it is one of the most modern wind farms in the world. And in the future, with the introduction of full capacity, it will be the biggest wind farm in Europe,” he noted.

The Head of State noted that the capacity of Botievo wind farm would equal the half of the capacity of Kyiv HPP and 1/6 of the capacity of DniproHES. “Investment in alternative energy is the investment in the future,” the President said.

“We have an opportunity to see that our state is able to implement such projects which are essential in today’s difficult period of economic crisis and lack of energy resources not only in our country but in the whole world. We are searching for the solutions of great problems,” the President noted.

Viktor Yanukovych also presented state awards.
