OREANDA-NEWS. October 08, 2012. Alexei Kovalev heads NOMOS-BANK’s Department of Project Financing. Priority tasks that await him in his new role are to further develop and strengthen NOMOS-BANK’s position in the project finance market, to create a diversified project portfolio and develop long-term financing across the Bank’s branch network, reported the press-centre of NOMOS-BANK.

Prior to joining NOMOS-BANK, Alexei Kovalev worked in the Moscow branch of Sberbank of Russia where he headed the project and investment financing division. Over the course of his work there he successfully implemented a number of large deals in mining, railway transport and leasing.

From 2008 to 2011, Alexei Kovalev worked at Alfa-Bank as Head of Project and Structured Finance, was in charge of syndicated loans with foreign banks, project finance, and complex structured transactions to repurchase debt and equity. Most of such transactions were of a public nature. His professional profile includes experience co-financing projects with JSC RUSNANO.
Between 2006 and 2008, he was Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of JSC Impexbank, worked on the integration of ZAO Raiffeisenbank Austria and JSC Impexbank during their merger. He oversaw credit operations, internal audit and collateral management.

From 2001 and 2006, he worked at ZAO Raiffeisenbank Austria in the area of lending to large corporate clients. He participated in numerous study and training courses at Raiffeisenbank Austria in Vienna.

Alexei Kovalev was born in St. Petersburg in 1975. He graduated from St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance with a degree in Banking, and received his PhD in 2001.

In 1995, he completed a course of study in Economics and Management at Buckinghamshire College (UK).
