OREANDA-NEWS.  October 05, 2012. As of early October, 5.5 million tons of grains have been exported. According to preliminary forecasts, it is planned to export 20 million tons of cereals. That was stated by Mykola Prysiazhniuk, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food at a briefing after a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

"As of early October, 5.5 million tons of cereals have been exported. According to our calculations, about 20 million tons of grain will generally be exported. Among them is wheat - 4 million tonnes, barley - 3.2 million tons, corn - 12.5 million tons. The overall situation of grain exports is stable and very predictable," said Mykola Prysiazhniuk.

The department head added there are 11 million tons of the transitional cereal stocks, including wheat - 5.3 million tons, corn - 4.1 million tonnes, barley - 1.7 mln tons. Mykola Prysiazhniuk also informed about a supply of grains in the next marketing year: "The grain supply in the next marketing year will be 56-57 million tons, while domestic demand will amount to 28.7 million tons," Mykola Prysiazhniuk pointed out.
