Taiyuan Regional Symposium of International Chromium Development Association (ICDA) was convened in Garden International Hotel, with the participation of Mr. Philippe Richard, the secretary general of ICDA, Mr. Li Cheng, honored chairman and consultant of China Stainless Steel Council of Special Steel Enterprise Association, Mr.Chai Zhiyong, Deputy GM of Shanxi Taigang Stainless Steel Co., Ltd., and those domestic ICDA members and pertinent industrial representatives, reported the press-centre of TISCO.
      
Philippe Richard presented the major topics of the conference and the globe position of ICDA, in addition to the welcoming address. According to him, as an important role of stainless steel (SS) making, Chromium (Cr) went a long way along with SS. Relentless R&D had been done before the universal recognition of the people to the application and importance of Cr and SS. On the world level so far, 94 % of the Ni has been applied in metallurgy, specifically 78% in the SS industry. In 2010 and 2011, both SS and Cr created new record. In the confrontation of harsh market condition today, I believe it is a moment to gather the strength in a bid for the future. Now that Cr and SS has found extensive application in the variety of industries, their prospect will bound to be promising. ICDA will continue to pool its effort to the Cr and SS businesses.
      
On behalf of TISCO, Mr.Chai Zhiyong address the conference. Chai said, in the context of swift economical globalization, the SS industry of China has become a major part of the world, and its growth was playing its promoting and leading function. In this era of merger and cooperation, not a single industry could attain success on its own, rather, the merger and cooperation between the upper and lower streams around a shared value and opportunity of development would be more important. Hence it is our hope that all those countries, industries and institutions in association with Cr on the globe to push up the drive for Cr market and to bring down the harmful measures, to seek for a higher standard development of Cr and SS businesses. In this regard, ICDA has done a huge amount work effectively, about which TISCO is so much thankful. And TISCO expects that ICDA will exert its vital function in the future. There is also a desire that through this seminar, TISCO will receive gracious advices and inputs about production or administration from all the informative and experienced participants.
