State Debt of Moldova to Bilateral Creditors Made USD 203.44 mn
OREANDA-NEWS. October 04, 2012. The state debt of Moldova to bilateral creditors made up USD 203.44 mln. as of the end of the first 6 months of 2012, USD11.35 mln. (5.3%) down since the beginning of the year.
The major bilateral creditors of Moldova are Russia, the USA and Japan, NBM informs. A debt of Moldova to Russia on loans guaranteed by the government amounted to USD 90.78 mln. as of the end of the first half year of 2012, USD 6.11 mln. (6.3%) down since the beginning of the year.
As of January, 2012 it was equal to USD 96.89 mln. It declined by 6.3% to USD 90.78 mln. as of the end of Q1 and remained the same as of the end of Q2. The share of Russia has made 44.6% of the total sum of the debt of Moldova to bilateral creditors as of the end of June, 2012. The share of the USA in the total sum of the debt of Moldova was USD 48.65 mln. or 23.9%.
The indebtedness of Moldova to the USA has not changed since the beginning of the year. The debt to Japan decreased from USD 21.23 mln. to USD 19.18 mln. The debt of Moldova to Russia includes loans extended to the government of Moldova in the period between 1992-1993 to pay for energy sources.
A part of the debt at a sum of USD 43.4 mln. was restructured in line with agreements achieved by Moldova and Russia in the Paris Club in May, 2006.
