Lithuanian Transport Companies Visit St. Petersburg
OREANDA-NEWS. October 04, 2012. A delegation including representatives of a state enterprise "Klaipeda State Seaport Authority", employees of the national railway company "Lithuanian railways" and a group of Lithuanian reporters made an official visit to the FSUE "Rosmorport" North-West Basin Branch, reported the press-centre of Rosmorport.
The participants of the visit got acquainted with the conditions and peculiarities of work in the North-West Basin Branch, and also with the presentations of the branch highliting the prospects of development of the branch itself and the Big Port of Saint Petersburg. Nadezhda Kalashnik, Deputy Director for Economics and Finance of the branch, told the guests about the procedure of charging harbor dues in the Big Port of Saint-Petersburg from vessels making port calls to the seaport, with emphasis on the system of discounts for passenger vessels.
In his turn, Ivan Gotovtchits, chief of the regional vessels traffic system, made a presentation illustrating the work of the vessel traffic systems in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland operated by the branch. As a part of the events program, the North-West Basin Branch also arranged a tour of the Big Port of Saint-Petersburg for the delegates.
The visit of representatives of the biggest Lithuanian transport organizations proceeded in a friendly atmosphere. The employees of the North-West Basin Branch, and the delegates could exchange opinions and share experience for a wide range of issues connected to provision of navigation safety and development of port infrastructure in the current context.
