5% Growth GDP Projection Is Unreal, President of NBM
OREANDA-NEWS. October 03, 2012. As the President of NBM briefed to journalists, the national public budget for 2013 is based on macro-economic indicators actual as of May, 2012. Considering a shady situation, some projections have become irrelevant and hardly achievable.
In particular, Dorin Dragutanu thinks the revenues of the budget and the pace of the export growth are overstated, GDP will grow 2-3% and the import will remain the same as in 2012. The NBM President stresses the budget will be revised after a while.
However, he agrees with the 5% inflation projection and notes that the deficit of the budget has been coordinated with IMF and will remain unchanged. “Even in 2012, when Moldova survived the severe drought and receipts to the budget fell, the deficit kept. Authorities must cut expenses to maintain the stability of the budget”, Dorin Dragutanu says.
It is important to be oriented at the long-term prospect and have 3-4% growth of GDP in 5 years, the NBM President stresses.
