Ukraine, Jordan to Intensify Bilateral Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. October 03, 2012. Ukraine and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan intend to develop cooperation in many areas, particularly in the field of agriculture. This was discussed during a meeting between Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov with a delegation of the National Assembly of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, led by the Head of the Chamber of Deputies of Jordan Abdel Karim Al Doghmi.
"I am convinced that your first visit to Ukraine will be a turning point in our mutually beneficial cooperation", - Mykola Azarov said. He recalled that last year Ukraine was visited by Jordan's King Abdullah II and in April of this year President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych was on an official visit to Jordan.
PM Mykola Azarov believes that this shows the mutual interest of both countries to enhance cooperation at the highest level. "We see Jordan as one of the most important partners in the Middle East. We welcome our cooperation and are ready for its activation "- Mykola Azarov said.
The Prime Minister said that the Ukrainian delegation will soon visit the Hashemite Kingdom to organize deliveries of grain to Jordan, as well as construction of granaries in Aqaba. "During this visit will be coordinate the draft government's agreement for the supply of certain agricultural products," - he stressed.
In turn the Head of the Chamber of Deputies of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Abdel Karim Al Doghmi has assured Mykola Azarov that Jordan is interested in intensifying negotiations with Ukraine in the field of agriculture. "Ukraine's experience in this area is known to the whole world, so we look forward to constructive cooperation in this direction" - he said.
According to Abdel Karim Al Doghmi, relations between Ukraine and Jordan historically very strong, but, according to him, the parties need to constantly work on their deepening.
