OREANDA-NEWS. October 1, 2012. In September, the key event for the Holding's organizations at the construction site of the first power unit of Baltic NPP has become the completion of concreting the foundation floor slab for the security building. The works are being performed by the specialists from TITAN-2 Holding's subsidiary OJSC UAT.

The floor slab concreting was performed at minus 8 meter-mark. Totally, 1,100 cubic meters of concrete was laid into one of the key structural elements of the building. Another facility where the builders from OJSC UAT also perform the foundation concreting is the administration building where the holding specialists also are erecting the walls up to minus 3.70 meters.

Currently, the works at 20 facilities of the main buildings and at 26 temporary title facilities of the construction site are being performed. The Holding's organizations work at the reactor building of the first power unit, administration and security buildings, as well as construct the superstructure and substructure of the railway spur "Neman – Baltic NPP construction site."

TITAN-2 Holding is the largest Group of Companies in the North-West of Russia which erects the most important facilities of nuclear industry and power engineering. Its organizations perform the full cycle of building and assembly works: from development of design documentation to the facility commissioning. The Baltic NPP project implies construction of two power units with a 1,150 MW –reactor of WWER type and heating capacity of 250 Gcal each. The design-to-life cycle of Baltic NPP is 50 years, and the one of the key equipment is 60 years. The first power unit is supposed to be commissioned in 2016, and the second one – in 2018. The station location is the north-east of Kaliningrad region, about 15 km away from the town of Neman. The construction management company for Baltic NPP is Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The General Contractor is JSC NIAEP.
