OREANDA-NEWS. October 01, 2012. London-based “Communicate Magazine” presented the ArcelorMittal Foundation with a corporate engagement award in the “best corporate sponsorship for employee engagement” category, reported the press-centre of ArcelorMittal.

The award went more specifically to the Foundation’s solidarity holidays initiative, which offers employees the chance to spend one week out of their annual leave volunteering overseas in a project supported by the ArcelorMittal Foundation.

Felicidad Cristobal, CEO of the ArcelorMittal Foundation, accepted the award on behalf of the company:

“All credits should go to the ArcelorMittal volunteers,” she said in her acceptance speech. “The success of the solidarity holiday project was possible only thanks to the strong commitment, involvement and passion demonstrated by all participants.”

Judged by a panel of sponsorship, CSR and partnership experts and communications practitioners, the Corporate Engagement Awards were established to celebrate and benchmark excellence in corporate partnerships and sponsorship and to point to the future of corporate engagement across all sectors.

“This year's corporate engagement awards saw a 48% increase in entries, but if quality could be expressed in percentage terms it would be much higher,” said publisher of “Communicate Magazine”, Andrew Thomas, during the award ceremony. “All shortlisted companies have demonstrated a clear desire to fulfil their social contract; those that won, have excelled. We congratulate them all”.
