OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2012. According to the results of the first eight months Novosibirsk Airport (Tolmachevo) handled 2 162 207 passengers that is a 20,6% higher than last year. The number of passengers on domestic flights was 1 353 698 people (+17,4%), and 808 509 (+26,5%) on international flights.

In January-August, the airport provided for fulfillment of 12,127 sorties (+7.9%).

In August 2012 passenger traffic at the airport has increased by 11,3% compared to the same period of last year and reached 368 211 people. 229 413 passengers (+6,7%) were served on domestic flights, and 138 798 passengers on international (+19,8%).

In May 1 813 sorties were carried out (+6,3%).

For the first eight months of 2012, 18 132 tonnes (+38%) of cargo and mail were handled at the airport. Cargo flight program at the Tolmachevo airport is performing by such airlines as Aeroflot, AirBridgeCargo, Volga-Dnepr, Air Cargo Germany, Cargolux, and others.

The Novosibirsk Airport (Tolmachevo)is the largest air hub East of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The capacity on domestic flights is 1 800 passengers per hour, on international flights - 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. According to business plan in 2012 The Tolmachevo Airport plans to serve 3 155 thousand passengers that is 14% higher than in 2011 and handle more than 26,000 tons of cargo and mail that is 28% more than in 2011.
