OREANDA-NEWS.  September 28, 2012. Russian Corporate Counsel Association organized a conference about “WTO, the Customs Union, EurAzEC: What Can Business Expect from the New Law Order?”, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The Conference discussed how to maintain competitive advantages under new economic conditions, when competitors – members of WTO – will enter Russian market. What legal protection mechanisms are opening to resolve State-to-State disputes, as well as to consider disputes under the national legal process of the country of importation? What are the additional guarantees of judicial protection of companies’ interests?

Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), Andrey Tsyganov, and the Head of FAS Legal Department, Sergey Puzyrevsky, took part in the Conference. They focused on harmonization of Russian antimonopoly law due to adopting the Agreement on Unified Principles and Rules of Competition. “The main objective is to eliminate barriers for business”, emphasized Deputy Head of FAS Russia.

Other speakers included the Minister for Competition and Antimonopoly Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Nurlan Aldabergenov; the Head of Global Practice on WTO, International Policy and Customs Law, Edward Borovikov; etc.

In his speech, Andrey Tsyganov pointed out that a single legislative framework must be formed in the transitional period to control enforcement of competition law.
